What are wax melts?
Wax melts are wickless, flameless, meltable fragrant wax pieces that can be heated in a wax warmer. They are also super easy to switch out to switch up the fragrance in your space! There are various types of wax melts including: clamshells, wax shapes, cubes, tarts, etc. They all work the same way, the really just vary in size. Our wax melts are made with a parasoy (paraffin and soy mix) blend of wax. The melts are made to produce fragrance that lasts from 8-16 hours. This is really more dependent on the fragrance oil, scent, heat source, and cure time! When the melt has lost its scent, its time to swap it out for a new one! You'll know when its time!
What is a wax warmer?
There are various types of wax warmers available. And they are available almost anywhere! The most common ones include- tealight burners, hotplate warmers, and lightbulb warmers. We test all of our fragrances in hotplate and lightbulb wax warmers so we know our scents will work perfect in (almost) any warmer of your choice!
How do you change out wax?
There are two ways we suggest cleaning out you wax warmer. One way is to let the warmer cool down and then pop your dish in the freezer for about an hour or so. Upon removal, most times, the wax will just pop right out. Discard and start over! The second way, which is quick and easy, is to take a few cotton balls and drop them right in the warmer. Let them soak up your wax, remove them and you're ready for more! We find this is the easiest and most effective way to remove wax and any glitter or mica that may be in the bottom of your dish.
What is "cure time"?
Wax melts are like wine- they get better with time! Often times wax needs a "cure time" to allow the fragrance oil to really penetrate the wax and give it the best cold and hot throw. Our wax melts come to you already packing a strong cold and hot throw! However, we do suggest you allow 2 weeks for wax to cure but we understand it's hard to wait sometimes! Therefore, you can use our melts right upon receiving them! But store the rest and watch as time passes how much stronger the scent gets! You wont be disappointed! :)
What do I need to know about melting your wax?
To prevent fire of injury: Remove packaging before use. Use only in tea-light warmers or UL listed electric warmers approved for wax melts. Read and follow all instructions provided with your wax warmer before use. Do not leave wax warmer unattended while in use. Keep out of reach of children and pets. We know they smell delicious, but please don't eat them. They are no edible. Do not add water. Keep away from flammable objects. Please discontinue use if wax dish contains less than 1/2 inch of wax. Most importantly, enjoy!!
How do I cut the bigger shapes you offer?
Chopping is the fun part! The wax is soft enough to cut with a butter knife. However, you can microwave the wax for about 15-20 seconds (this will vary my size of the melt) and then use a crinkle cutter and chop into as many pieces as you'd like! Don't have a crinkle cutter? What is your current Turn Around Time (TAT)?
Current turn around time for in stock items is up to 14 business days (Monday-Friday excluding holidays). Customs have up to a 20 business day turn around time.
How much does shipping cost?
US orders over $149.00 ship for free! Otherwise, there is a flat rate $8.95 shipping fee! We are now shipping to Canada as well! Shipping cost to Canada is paid in full buy the customer. International buyers please note: You are responsible for any customs, duties and/or taxes owed by your country.
Do you combine orders?
I do my best! If I can catch multiple orders I definitely do! To ensure your orders are shipped together you can do one of two things.. IF you have NOT received a shipping confirmation you can place another order with your additional items and use code 'COMBINE' at checkout and it will waive the shipping. This will also let me know that you have another open order and they will get combined! If you place your second order without the code, no worries! Just send an email to hjwaxco@gmail.com with both order numbers and I will refund the shipping on one of your orders.
What is your refund policy?
We do not accept returns or exchanges. Due to the nature of our products being handmade we do not offer returns. However, we understand that you can't smell things through the screen. We encourage you to go ahead and 'destash' them. Facebook has many groups available for the reselling of wax melts!
What is your cancelation policy?
Currently most of our items are ready to ship and ship as quickly as I can pack them! As long as you have NOT received a shipping notification please reach out ASAP and I will see what I can do for you! If/once your order has shipped unfortunately I will be unable to cancel it. Please note: There is no guarantee I will be able to cancel your order but I will do my best!
We do ship to Canada! International buyers please note: You are responsible for any customs, duties and/or taxes owed by your country.
